Iceland is truly a world-class destination for backcountry skiing. Vertical descents of up to 1500m (almost 5000ft), leading all the way to the shoreline of the Arctic ocean. This 4-day backcountry ski adventure is perfect for those who want to enjoy the magic of the Troll Peninsula under the guidance of an experienced ski guide.

We focus on finding the perfect slopes to make each day memorable. Our experienced ski guides prioritize the safety of our guests and ensure our guests have enjoyable and exhilarating days in the mountains.
On our first day, we will explore the mountains surrounding Sóti Lodge in the Fljótin region. The diverse mountain ranges that surround Fljótin create the perfect place for ski touring and ensure that we find something suitable for the whole group.

Our next day takes us to Ólafsfjörður, an visit to an old settlement called Kleifar. Rising above Kleifar is mt. Arnfinnsfjall or Finninn as the locals like to call it. Finninn offers one grand slope that takes you all the way from the summit to the sea.

Of course, we will not forget Siglufjörður, made famous by numerous movies and from the “picture perfect” slopes. Three valleys open into the fjord, Skútudalur, Hólsdalur, and Skarðsdalur. These beautiful valleys and vistas will be our skiing area for the last couple of days.

These are only a few examples of the areas we will explore, all depending on weather and snow conditions.

Returning to Sóti Lodge at the end of the day, our staff will make sure that after a good day of skiing you get to relax with a hot beverage or a cold beer while sharing stories from the day’s adventure. Each room has a private bathroom and shower, and of course the swimming pool just a few steps from the lodge for all to enjoy.
In the evenings you enjoy a three-course dinner with locally sourced ingredients.

Backcountry skiing and a stay at Sóti Lodge are the perfect combinations to create a truly memorable experience.

The goal at the end of each trip is to make our guests feel refreshed in the body and soul, emotionally energized and physically tired after fabulous days in the mountains.
