Find your sea legs with us on a day tour from Siglufjörður, for an immersive journey through the history, culture and seafaring heritage of Iceland’s Arctic coastline.
We sail from Siglufjörður harbour towards the old settlement at Siglunes, the peninsula that guards Siglufjörður from the unrelenting waves of the Arctic Ocean. We traverse the fjord, taking in dramatic landscapes and birdlife, and if weather allows, we head east for a glimpse of Héðinsfjörður, abandoned by people since the 1950s.
During the tour, you’ll discover the fascinating stories that have shaped the fjord and the people who challenged the elements for survival. Our vessel, Örkin, is a former fishing boat, offering an authentic taste of local life in a North Icelandic fishing community.
No boat tour is complete without fishing — and there will be plenty of opportunities to catch your dinner as we try our hand at sea angling along the way.

The meeting point is at our base camp by the square in Siglufjörður. Please be there 30 minutes before the start of the tour. We will be at sea for approximately three hours. Dress warmly — it is much colder on the ocean than on land.
