Trollaskagi (Troll Peninsula) is well known for its magnificent outdoor recreation opportunities. The activities are numerous. Walk, run or bike along the many mountain paths or enjoy the snow-covered slopes that run from summit to the sea. The peninsula is famous for its steep mountains and the closeness of the ocean and this is what we will experience, following some of the most historic paths in the mountains.

This tour calls for a good level of fitness, experience in nature trail running and mountain biking. It is not only about the breathtaking views and discovering new places, but also about gaining new techniques and skills from your experienced guides. We aim to leave you with new knowledge and a new thirst for adventures.

The tour agenda provides the perfect mix of mountain jogging and biking, opening a multitude of vistas for those in search of the perfect view. Enjoy our yoga classes every morning and afternoon or soak in the. Adjacent geothermal pool after a long day’s outing. In the evenings, the staff at Sóti Lodge makes sure that you enjoy the peaceful surroundings and amazing food.

Our trails will be focused on the northern point of the peninsula. On our first day, we will follow the valley trail or “Dalaleið”. That trail takes us from Fljótin over the mountains to Siglufjörður. It´s a beautiful trail used by locals when the tunnel was closed by avalanches. In the afternoon, we get on our mountain bikes and follow another historic trail, Skarðsleið. That trail was officially opened in 1946, used to get over to Siglufjörður before the tunnel and road were made. We use this day to teach and go over the basics of mountain biking.

The next day starts with a healthy breakfast, then putting on our running shoes. We head to Skeggjabrekkudalur in Ólafsfjörður, there is a quite special trail called Botnaleið. That trail offers unbelievable views while running at the bottom of the three fjords, Ólafsfjörður, Héðinsfjörður, and Siglufjörður.

On the last day, we put the mountain bikes in the car and drive to Dalvík, there hides one of the best flow trails in the north, Böggvisstaðardalur. We head up the valley, enjoying the one of a kind trail and view. It is a quite peaceful valley, a clean river, and vegetated mountains.

We end our last day with a dip in a natural hot spring, sitting right by the ocean. The perfect place to put an end to our adventure.

Our experienced guides will make the group feel both secure and safe and provide local insights into the surroundings. They will plan itineraries according to the capacity level of the group. The goal is to nourish your body and soul by experiencing the magnificent nature of our beloved region.
