Five course Christmas menu and beautiful accommodation with friends and family

During the darkest days of winter Icelanders find it essential to bundle up, keep warm and enjoy good food and drink in a cosy atmosphere. The advent can become busy, with outings to experience the short daylight hours and evenings catching up with friends and family.  The Fljot region is expecially beautiful during winter, with pristine snow brightening the landscape and the winter skies reflected in frozen surfaces. We invite you to enjoy this time with us, feast on our five course Christmas menu and collect memories of the Icelandic Christmas spirit. For those who want to experience a true northern winter, we offer night walks and other outings, and the opportunity to stare towards the sky in an authentic geothermal country pool.

Advent at Siglufjörður

Siglufjörður, the northernmost town in Iceland, is only a short drive away. This lovely town offers the perfect insights into village life in Iceland. The town is home to the Herring Era Museum, and offers a wonderful insight into the past of the town – and the history of Iceland. For those more gastronomically inclined, there is a local chocolate maker and a microbrewery, both welcoming visitors – and the local fish monger sell the best fish and chips in the north. After a day of local culture, there are few things better than to relax with a float therapy session in Barðslaug, before enjoying the evening at Sóti Lodge.

For ski enthusiasts, the ski resort in Skarðsdalur will open on December 4th. It offers rentals for those who just want to try to ski in the northernmost slopes of Iceland.

Other day tours

North Iceland has everything to boost the Christmas spirit! We can tailor a fun day tour to showcase how we try to feed our anticipation for this biggest of holidays. Want to try a visit to the Christmas shop in Eyjafjörður? Or even a search for the yule lads at lake Mývatn? We offer two night advent packages for those who want to stay longer and experience winter in the North. We will merrily plan a tailor made experience for you and your travel companions.
