Summer is almost over…

As the nights begin to draw in, migratory birds flee to warmer climates, children find themselves reluctantly drawn back to the classroom, and their grown-ups begin to settle back into old work routines. With the echoes of sunshine in our minds, we start to wonder how we might make the most of these crisp autumn days.

…but there are good times ahead!

After a busy summer and with starry skies making a reappearance, autumn feels like the perfect opportunity to start lighting candles, fine-tuning hot chocolate recipes and taking a moment simply to breathe. Now is the time to pamper yourself a little – and what better way to do that than with a rejuvenating flotation treatment, fresh local food, and a night surrounded by the natural beauty of the Fljót region?

Once our minds and bodies have recovered from summer’s thrilling chaos, we can start to look forward to some new adventures entirely. There’s a certain anticipation that comes with watching the snowline drop lower and lower through the mountains, eyeing up the calendar as Skarðsdalur’s opening day approaches and tuning up our skis of choice. The Troll peninsula is a playground for skiers of all disciplines and abilities – whether you prefer to cruise the cross-country tracks, skin to the summits or charge hard lines directly out of the heli, there’s nowhere more fun to ski than right here in the arms of the mountains.
